Julie Whittaker Jones
Police Community Support Officer
Chailey North And South, Plumpton And East Chiltington

I
joined Sussex Police and became a PCSO in January 2005, prior to which
I'd spent twenty years in a customer facing environment. During these
years I gained valuable experience and skills with people, and I do see
myself as a 'people person'.
I decided to become a PCSO when I
read about the new role. I wanted to get away from a selling
environment and it sounded extremely worthwhile.
My work in the
rurals is very varied from day to day. I mainly do a huge amount of
foot patrol, dealing with community issues and neighbour disputes.
I enjoy my role, find the work very rewarding and I have been received very well in my communities. I regularly visit these schools within my area: Chailey Secondary School, Mill Lane, South Chailey;
St Peters Primary School, Chailey and Plumpton Primary School..

Steven Knowles
Police Community Support Officer
Chailey North And South, Plumpton And East Chiltington

My name is Steve.
I
started as a PCSO in October 2008. Before taking on this roll I was a
security guard. In my time as a security guard I assisted in helping a
number of people and helping to reduce crime. I decided to become a
PCSO as I enjoy meeting and helping people and wish to do my bit to
help and protect the community. I hope to inspire confidence in the
community by providing a high visibility presence and to help reduce
crime and anti-social behaviour on the streets.
